{"id":83505,"date":"2026-02-25T12:33:56","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T18:33:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.greaterbelize.com\/?p=83505"},"modified":"2026-02-25T12:33:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T18:33:56","slug":"its-final-la-ruta-maya-finish-line-moved-to-grand-resort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greaterbelize.com\/its-final-la-ruta-maya-finish-line-moved-to-grand-resort\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Final: La Ruta Maya Finish Line Moved to Grand Resort"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Organisers of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greaterbelize.com\/new-finish-line-for-la-ruta-maya-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Ruta Maya<\/a> Belize River Challenge have confirmed that the fourth and final leg of the race will end at the Grand Resort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vice Chair of the race planning committee, Roberto Harrison, said the decision was driven by safety and logistics. \u201cAfter quite a bit of debate and back and forth, the decision is final,\u201d he told News Five, explaining that the traditional finish near Belcan Bridge and the Civic Centre had become increasingly difficult to manage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harrison explained that securing the traditional finish area has grown more costly and complex, particularly for an event that attracts thousands of spectators, in an open space \u201cwhere anything can flare up&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He also insisted the resort has sufficient space. \u201cIt&#8217;s quite an open space too.
