Over the weekend, the People\u2019s United Party<\/a> packed Belmopan Comprehensive School with roughly fifteen hundred delegates for its National Party Council Meeting, an event the party says was all about unity, momentum, and charting the course ahead. Framed by its seventy\u2011fifth anniversary celebrations, the P.U.P. used the gathering to adopt a slate of progressive resolutions, including a fresh endorsement of Prime Minister John Brice\u00f1o as party leader. Delegates also backed the pause in the B.T.L.\/Speednet acquisition talks, supported the final rollout phase of the National Health Insurance program, and reaffirmed the million\u2011tree initiative. From the podium, Party Leader John Brice\u00f1o outlined the vision behind these decisions. Here\u2019s part of what he had to say.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes we did these things to better the lives of everyone to get them to prepare. We are preparing our young people for careers in a changing global economy. We are preparing our communities to grow, with better electricity, digital access and services that attract investment.
