This morning on Open Your Eyes, the Sandhill Village Council highlighted an exciting new initiative aimed at empowering entrepreneurs and stimulating economic growth within the community; Sandhill Market Day.

Chairman Darren Leal, joined by Event Coordinator and Councilor Kristy Chi, shared the Council’s vision of creating a structured and consistent platform where local vendors can promote and sell their goods and services. From food vendors and artisans to small retailers and service providers, Sandhill Market Day is designed to showcase the diverse talent and enterprise that already exists within the village.

According to Chairman Leal, the initiative is rooted in a simple but powerful principle: when residents support local businesses, they strengthen the entire community. Keeping spending within the village helps circulate income locally, encourages job creation, and builds long-term economic resilience. By formalizing Market Day as a recurring community event, the Council hopes to provide entrepreneurs with reliable exposure and opportunities for growth.

Kristy Chi explained that Sandhill Market Day is not just about commerce — it is about community connection. The event will create a welcoming space where families can gather, network, and celebrate local creativity. Beyond generating sales, it aims to inspire young people to explore entrepreneurship and see business ownership as a viable path. The Council views the initiative as a way to nurture confidence, innovation, and collaboration among residents.

Adding a digital dimension to the conversation was Monique Ford-Vicente, Marketing Manager of Digi Wallet. She emphasized the importance of digital payment solutions in modern commerce, even at the village level. By integrating secure, cashless transaction options, vendors can increase convenience for customers, improve record-keeping, and expand their customer base. The partnership signals that Sandhill is embracing innovation while supporting grassroots entrepreneurship.

Ultimately, Sandhill Market Day represents more than a single event on the calendar. It reflects a broader commitment by the Sandhill Village Council to foster economic development, encourage community pride, and create sustainable opportunities for local businesses. Through collaboration, visibility, and modernization, Sandhill is taking meaningful steps toward building a vibrant and self-sustaining local economy.

Young entrepreneur Daja Gamboa recently stopped by the Open Your Eyes morning show to share the sweet story behind her new small business, Cookie Lab. With passion, creativity, and a tray of beautifully decorated treats in hand, Daja gave the viewers an inside look at what it really takes to turn a dream into a growing brand.

Cookie Lab isn’t just about baking cookies, it’s about transforming them into edible works of art. During the interview, Daja explained that starting her business required patience, persistence, and plenty of late nights perfecting her craft. From testing recipes to mastering intricate icing techniques, she emphasized that the journey has been both challenging and rewarding.

“Opening this business pushed me to step outside my comfort zone,” she shared. “There were moments of doubt, but I believed in my vision and kept going.”

Daja also talked about the importance of branding, customer relationships, and social media in building awareness for Cookie Lab. Like many small business owners, she wears multiple hats; baker, decorator, marketer, and customer service representative, all while maintaining the high standards she sets for her products.

To give the hosts a real taste of what goes on behind the scenes, Daja brought along decorating supplies and invited them to try their hand at cookie artistry. What looked easy at first quickly proved to be more detailed than expected. From piping delicate outlines to carefully flooding icing within the lines, the activity showed just how much skill and steady focus her work requires.

Laughter filled the studio as the hosts compared their creations to Daja’s polished designs. The hands-on demonstration highlighted the precision, creativity, and patience that define her craft. It was a fun and interactive way to showcase the artistry behind Cookie Lab’s custom orders.

Beyond the sweetness, Daja’s story is one of determination and entrepreneurship. She hopes her journey inspires other young people to pursue their passions and not be afraid to start small. “You don’t have to have everything figured out,” she said. “Just start, learn as you go, and stay committed.”

With talent, drive, and a clear vision, Daja Gamboa is proving that hard work and a little sugar can go a long way. Cookie Lab is more than a business; it’s a creative space where imagination meets flavor, one beautifully decorated cookie at a time.

This morning on Open Your Eyes we were excited to highlight an incredible opportunity for young Belizean athletes. The spotlight was on the upcoming Copa Gobernador Basketball Tournament, set to take place in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, where 13 different countries will come together to compete. Among those teams proudly representing Belize is the Orange Walk Brotherhood Ballaz, and joining us in studio were young talent Little Jaythan Young and founder and coach Calbert Carcamo.

The Copa Gobernador is shaping up to be a major international showcase of youth basketball talent, and for Belize, this is more than just a tournament, it’s a chance to wave the black, white, blue, and red on an international stage. With countries from across the region participating, the competition will be high-level, fast-paced, and full of energy.

Little Jaythan Young, who plays in the Under-13 category for the Brotherhood Ballaz, shared his excitement about the journey ahead. Calm but confident, Jaythan spoke about the hard work he has been putting in; from daily practice sessions to conditioning drills, all while balancing school and family life. Like any dedicated young Belizean athlete, he understands that representing your country is both an honor and a responsibility.

“I dih train hard every day,” he expressed proudly, noting that preparation isn’t just physical but mental too. From sharpening his ball-handling skills to improving his teamwork on the court, Jaythan is focused on giving his best performance in Mérida. For him, this isn’t just about playing basketball but it’s about showing that Belizean youth can compete with anyone.

Coach Calbert Carcamo, founder of the Orange Walk Brotherhood & Sisterhood Ballaz team, also shared insights into the team’s preparation. Over the years, the program has grown into a positive force in the community, providing young people with discipline, mentorship, and opportunities through sports. Coach Carcamo emphasized that the team has been training intensively, working on defense, offensive plays, stamina, and team chemistry.

He noted that international tournaments like Copa Gobernador expose players to a higher level of competition, which helps them grow not only as athletes but as individuals. “This is about building character,” Coach Carcamo explained. “We’re teaching these youths about commitment, teamwork, and representing Belize with pride.”

However, as with many grassroots sports’ programs in Belize, funding remains a challenge. Travel expenses, accommodation, uniforms, and tournament fees all add up. Coach Carcamo made a heartfelt appeal to the Belizean public, businesses, and the diaspora to support the team in making this trip possible. Every donation, big or small, brings these young athletes one step closer to their dream.

This morning’s segment was a reminder of how sports continue to unite and uplift communities across Belize, from Orange Walk to the entire nation. As the Brotherhood Ballaz prepare to head to Mérida, they carry not just basketballs in their hands, but the hopes and pride of a country behind them.

On February 23, 2026, viewers of Open Your Eyes were introduced to an important initiative aimed at transforming Belize’s agricultural landscape. Representatives from the Sustainable and Inclusive Belize (SAIB) Project appeared on the morning program to discuss how the initiative is directly supporting small farmers across the country.

Levi Shol, Supervisory Coordinator for SAIB, and Debbie Alfaro, Project Manager, outlined the project’s mission to promote sustainable farming practices while ensuring that opportunities remain inclusive and accessible, particularly for small and individual farmers who often face financial and technical barriers.

A major highlight of the discussion was the availability of small individual farmer grants of up to BZ $4,000. These grants are designed to help farmers strengthen and expand their operations, through purchasing equipment, improving infrastructure, increasing crop production, or adopting climate-smart agricultural practices. The initiative focuses not only on boosting productivity but also on building long-term resilience within Belize’s agricultural sector. Shol and Alfaro emphasized that the SAIB Project is about more than financial assistance. It aims to empower farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary to operate sustainably, improve food security, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Recognizing that not every application may be approved on the first submission, the representatives also addressed what farmers can do if their grant proposal is rejected.

Rather than viewing rejection as a setback, they encouraged applicants to see it as an opportunity for improvement. During the segment, they shared five practical steps to help strengthen a resubmitted proposal. First, applicants should check their purpose to ensure their project clearly aligns with SAIB’s goals of sustainability and inclusivity. Second, they should carefully review the guidelines to confirm that all requirements and supporting documents are properly addressed. Third, applicants are encouraged to be specific in outlining how the funds will be used and what outcomes are expected.

Fourth, strengthening the explanation of the project’s impact—particularly how it benefits the wider community or enhances food production—can make a proposal more competitive. Finally, farmers are advised to seek guidance from the SAIB team for clarification or technical support before resubmitting. The segment served as both an informational resource and a call to action for Belizean farmers. By offering accessible grant funding and clear guidance on improving applications, the SAIB Project is positioning itself as a key driver of sustainable and inclusive agricultural development in Belize. For many viewers, the message was clear: support is available, and with preparation and persistence, small farmers can access the resources needed to grow stronger and more resilient in an evolving agricultural landscape.

If you missed Open Your Eyes this morning, you missed something special.

Darlon Usher — the young artist who captured Belize’s heart as the Season Seven champion of KTV The Remix — stopped by the Open Your Eyes studio this morning to perform and talk about his debut single Gratitude, a collaboration with Richie Galves of Play Chune Marketing. Hosts Jaime Rocke and Paul Lopez welcomed him to the set — and he didn’t just talk about the song. He sang it live. And it set the tone for the entire morning.

The Song

Gratitude started with a conversation. Galves approached Usher with a vision for a theme song to mark a new chapter for his company. “He explained to me what his heart behind it was,” Usher said, “and I believed in the message. So it was fairly easy for me to tap into that creative space.” Drawing on more than 12 years of songwriting experience — and a background that includes touring Israel with acclaimed Christian reggae band Christafari — Usher wrapped the writing in about two sessions.

Getting it to release wasn’t without its challenges. A packed December schedule pushed back the original January 1st launch, and the video’s sunset shots were repeatedly frustrated by January’s relentless rain. But Usher isn’t fazed. “With the song itself, I think it speaks for itself — both musically and lyrically.”

His hope is simple: that people pause. “I really want people to do some self-reflection and understand what they have to be grateful for — and a lot of times that’s simply waking up in the morning.”

Life After KTV

Since taking home the Season Seven crown and the $10,000 grand prize at the Bliss Centre, Usher says life has shifted. His name has become a household one, and the recognition has come in unexpected ways — including a child asking for his autograph after a school visit. “It’s things like that that really touch me,” he said.

His advice to fellow Belizean artists is clear: stay original. “Know what your sound is. If you do what you believe in, it becomes that much more of yourself.”

Where to Find Him

Gratitude is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube under Darlon Usher. Follow him on Facebook as Darlon Usher, and on TikTok and Instagram as @thisisdarlonmusic.

One of Belize’s most recognisable morning programmes is celebrating another major milestone. That’s right! Open Your Eyes is celebrating 17 long years of staating yuh mawning right!

The popular talk show first aired in 2008 and has grown into a staple of Belizean life, combining news, entertainment, and community stories in one energetic package every morning in the week on Greater Belize Media.

Last year in November, OYE celebrated its anniversary month in its upgraded state-of-the-art studio, with features like advanced audio systems, enhanced video quality and redesigned sets that reflect a more contemporary look.

So it’s been a year of creating new memories and connections in its new home.

This year’s anniversary carries the theme “17 Years of Frames.” It’s a 17-year time capsule of the moments, conversations and personalities that have shaped the show. The theme captures the diversity of Belize and the many voices that have come through the studio over nearly two decades.

As part of the celebration, 17 viewers also won anniversary prizes.

The current hosting team includes Sabreena Daly, who recently took over from long-time host Marleni Cuellar, alongside April Martinez, Paul Lopez, and Isani Cayetano. Together, they continue the show’s legacy of engaging and relatable content.

Behind the scenes, producer Viannie Reyes and her assistant Monilee Aspinall keep the daily broadcast running smoothly.

The way the show blends culture and news, interviews, and conversations into community issues, or simply makes mornings feel a little brighter, keeps it reaching Belizean homes every morning.

Whether it’s on air or through WhatsApp, email, and social media, audiences can ask questions, share events, or just share a birthday shoutout. Open Your Eyes is a shared morning experience, a family.

Join our family every morning and staat yuh mawnin right from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Greater Belize Media. Tune in on the show’s YouTube channel or follow them on social media, including Facebook, to be part of the morning conversation.

“It’s a nation that has been looking forward to all of our different, informative segments that we have implemented in our different schedules every day and the creativity that we’ve had and the staff that we’ve had here in the studio to make sure everything is successful. We do not only stream for Belize but Belize and beyond and definitely for the fact that we’ve also been noticed across the Caribbean for bringing back awards from CBU here to Channel 5, Greater Belize Media now. It’s definitely shown that we have what it takes to be international.”

With its dynamic mix of news, interviews, and cultural highlights, OYE reaches a wide and diverse audience from north to south, east to west. But what truly sets it apart? Its power to shape public opinion and keep citizens informed. The show blends news, lifestyle, entertainment, and live interviews, keeping the content fresh and engaging. This variety appeals to a broad demographic.

“It not only benefits those who watch and those who are in tune with these conversations, but it sets me up to have greater knowledge on these conversations so that I could, outside of this setting, do my job, outside of this setting, better. As well, I can have more engaging conversations.”

Whether it’s breaking down the latest headlines, spotlighting community heroes, or diving into the issues that matter most — Open Your Eyes is where Belize wakes up informed, inspired, and ready to take on the day. With its slogan “Staat Yuh Mawnin Right,” the show has established a strong identity that resonates with viewers and sets a positive tone for the day.

“I never thought I’d be waking up at four a.m. everyday, but being able to bring something new to the table every single morning is what I consider my cup of coffee. And it’s allowed me to get a small taste of what media, journalists, people who are on the go early in the morning as well, so that I could relate to them better and cater to what they’d like to see on their morning commutes.”

Every weekday morning, this top-rated show on Channel 5 Belize shines a spotlight on the stories that matter most, from classrooms to clinics, from youth centers to startup hubs. By highlighting initiatives in education, health, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship, Open Your Eyes is more than just a morning show, it’s a catalyst for national development.

Paul Lopez

“I think, as hosts on Open Your Eyes, one of our primary responsibility is accountability, more so holding those in authority accountable through the questions we ask. A lot of times, the questions we ask most times are questions that the public has, and so we glean from those questions based on the conversations and the suggestions, and we bring those questions to, for example, the prime minister. If we are to ask him about the budget, if we are to ask him about a current national issue. We glean from the concerns of the public and we present questions, for example, to the Minister of Sports on issues related to sports.”

Whether it’s showcasing a young innovator’s big idea, diving into health awareness campaigns, or giving voice to educators and community leaders, OYE is helping Belize move forward, one conversation at a time.

Viannie Reyes

“This year, 2025, November 2025 makes seventeen years of Open Your Eyes’ anniversary and I have to say that I am more than honored to be here to experience all the changes, all the success, and all the different fun memories that we’ve had over the past couple of years that I’ve been here.”

With interactive features like WhatsApp, email, and social media, viewers aren’t just watching the show — they’re part of it. Whether it’s sending in a question for a guest, sharing a community event, or just saying good morning, the audience has a direct line to the studio. And it’s the little touches that make a big difference, like birthday shoutouts and community highlights. These moments create a sense of connection, turning a national broadcast into a personal experience. It’s this inclusivity that makes Open Your Eyes more than just a show — it’s a community. Great Belize Television, popularly known as Channel 5, is marking its 33rd anniversary today. From its humble beginnings as a small television station to becoming one of Belize’s most trusted sources of news, entertainment, and public affairs programming, Channel 5 has cemented its place as a household name and a pillar of Belizean media.

Founded on December 9, 1991, Great Belize Television was envisioned as a channel that would prioritise high-quality, locally produced content. Over the years, it has evolved into a leading broadcaster known for its impartial reporting, investigative journalism, and creative local programming. As Belize’s media landscape has transformed with the rise of digital technology, so too has Channel 5, which now reaches audiences not only through traditional television but also via social media and online streaming platforms.

The Early Days: Pioneering Local Television

Great Belize Television Celebrates 33 Years of Broadcasting Excellence

When Great Belize Television first launched, the local media industry was in its infancy. International channels dominated television screens, and Belizean-made content was limited. Channel 5 set out to change that. Its founders aimed to produce high-quality programming that reflected the voices, stories, and realities of Belizeans.

The station’s flagship production, News 5 Live, became its most prominent and enduring program. Known for its balanced reporting, in-depth investigations, and fearless coverage of current affairs, News 5 Live quickly earned public trust. The program set a new standard for journalistic excellence in Belize, prioritising accuracy, fairness, and accountability.

Alongside its news program, Channel 5 also ventured into entertainment and lifestyle content. Shows like Duets—a local singing competition—and Showdown—a televised talent showcase—captivated viewers and provided a platform for local artists to shine.

Flagship Programs That Defined a Generation

At the heart of Great Belize Television’s legacy is News 5 Live, the station’s flagship news program, which delivers daily updates on national, regional, and international events. Renowned for its investigative journalism, News 5 Live has played a crucial role in holding public officials accountable and informing citizens about the key issues that shape their lives. With its reputation for accuracy, depth, and bold reporting, the program remains a pillar of Belizean news media.

Mornings in Belize wouldn’t be the same without Open Your Eyes, a lively morning show launched in 2007. The show blends current affairs, lifestyle, and entertainment, offering a well-rounded start to the day. Hosted by a rotating cast of charismatic presenters, Open Your Eyes invites policymakers, entertainers, and everyday Belizeans into its studio for engaging interviews and discussions that keep the public informed and entertained.

No list of iconic Channel 5 programming would be complete without Karaoke Television (KTV) and its spinoffs. As one of Belize’s most beloved talent competitions, KTV became a platform for aspiring singers to showcase their vocal talents. With formats like KTV Duets, KTV Latino, KTV Kids, KTV The Remix, and If You Can Sing It, Bring It, these competitions captivated the nation. Audiences tuned in weekly to watch performers compete for the grand prize, with judges offering feedback that added drama, excitement, and anticipation to every episode.

Great Belize Television Celebrates 33 Years of Broadcasting Excellence

Sports enthusiasts have long relied on The James Adderley Sports Report to stay updated on local and international sporting events. Covering everything from football to cycling, this iconic segment became essential viewing for fans across the country. Today, it has evolved into Sports Monday with reporter Paul Lopez, continuing the legacy of providing comprehensive sports coverage with the same passion and precision.

Channel 5 also recognises the importance of celebration and culture through its Summer Fest and Holiday Specials. These annual broadcasts capture the joy and excitement of Belizean holidays, cultural festivals, and national celebrations. Viewers get to see their communities come to life on screen, fostering a sense of national pride and unity during moments of festivity.

Entertainment extended to shows like Lauren Da Nite. Sixty Second Sermon offered a moment of reflection and spiritual guidance, while The Andy Palacio Show celebrated Belize’s rich musical heritage.

Reality TV also made its mark with From Yes to I Do, which followed couples on their journey to marriage, and The Belize Apprentice, a business-orientated competition inspired by the global hit show. For those with dreams of stardom, If You Can Sing It, Bring It, and Be the Next Superstar provided platforms for aspiring artists to showcase their talents.

Political discourse found a home in One on One with Dickie Bradley, where in-depth interviews with key figures shed light on national issues. Meanwhile, Bruk It Down, Miss Jenny offered life advice, often with a humorous but practical touch.

Regional Excellence

From hard-hitting news coverage to beloved entertainment and cultural celebrations, Great Belize Television’s programming has shaped the way Belizeans see their country, their communities, and themselves. Through every segment, competition, and special report, the station continues to uphold its commitment to inform, entertain, and inspire. Its continued recognition from the Caribbean Broadcasting Union for excellence in journalism underscores its enduring legacy of professionalism, integrity, and impact in the media industry.

Great Belize Television Celebrates 33 Years of Broadcasting Excellence

Over the years, News 5 Live has received numerous accolades from the CBU across various categories, solidifying its reputation as one of the most trusted and respected news sources in the region. In 2024, Channel 5 once again distinguished itself on the regional stage. The winners were selected from a pool of 444 submissions across several categories, including print, radio, television, and digital media. Reflecting on the intensity of the competition, Channel 5’s CEO, Marleni Cuellar, highlighted the growing challenge of maintaining excellence amid increasing submissions each year. “There were over four hundred entries into this year’s CMAs, and the awards submissions just keep growing and growing. The competition keeps getting tighter and tighter,” Cuellar remarked. “The pressure is definitely there to be able to keep up to standard with what we have always been capable of achieving. I am incredibly proud of my team that secured these awards and for the extended support team at Channel 5 that works to keep the environment conducive to creating these types of awards.”

Elevating Belize’s Broadcast Standards and Adapting to Digital Change

In the digital age, Channel 5 has continued to evolve. Recognising the shift in media consumption habits, the station launched a revamped website and continues to be a leader on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Live-streaming of major news events and News 5 Live broadcasts allows Belizeans at home and abroad to stay connected to current events.

This shift has helped Channel 5 maintain its relevance in an era where traditional television viewership is on the decline. It has also allowed Belizean diasporas living abroad to access Channel 5’s programming in real time, keeping them connected to home.

Channel 5 has significantly upgraded its production capabilities, with two Forum Split consoles featuring 24 faders and 16-channel Dante modules, enabling seamless audio control for both live shows like Open Your Eyes and more complex productions. The upgrades also include an AEQ Xpeak intercom system, enhancing communication during live broadcasts, and a Systel IP system using Dante protocol for phone and audio integration, improving quality and reducing costs. Additionally, a Netbox 4MH interface has been installed in the newsroom for high-quality recordings, ensuring crystal-clear audio.

Great Belize Productions Limited’s Open Your Eyes morning show debuted a stunning transformation today. The show unveiled state-of-the-art studio sets and a brand-new logo. This rebranding effort underscores the show’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve in Belize’s dynamic media landscape and reaffirms its place as the nation’s go-to morning show.

The upgrades are nothing short of impressive. From cutting-edge audio and video systems to sleek new designs, the changes reflect Open Your Eyes’ dedication to delivering top-tier programming to Belizeans every morning. But this transformation isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s backed by serious technology and innovation.

Channel 5, the home of Open Your Eyes, has partnered with Caritech, the distributor of AEQ systems, to modernise its studios into fully interconnected hubs of innovation. Spearheaded by Richard Rawlins, a prominent figure in Caribbean broadcasting, the project integrates advanced audio and video solutions that position Channel 5 at the forefront of the region’s media industry.

Key to this transformation are two Forum Split consoles, each equipped with 24 faders and 16-channel Dante modules. These consoles enable seamless audio control across various production settings, from live shows like Open Your Eyes to more complex multimedia productions. Their modular design ensures flexibility, catering to everything from basic operations to sophisticated productions.

The upgrades also include an AEQ Xpeak intercom system, featuring desktop panels for audio booths and Master Control, belt packs for camera operators, and interfaces that connect the entire studio network at a Dante level. These features streamline communication during live broadcasts, ensuring that every cue and transition is flawless.

Meanwhile, a Systel IP system using Dante protocol has been installed to enhance phone and audio integration, significantly reducing costs while boosting quality. This system ensures that Open Your Eyes is always connected—whether it’s for live call-ins or high-quality interviews.

For the newsroom, a Netbox 4MH interface has been installed, enabling high-quality recordings via Dante. This allows Open Your Eyes and other Channel 5 productions to integrate microphone inputs and headphone outputs through an advanced IP network, ensuring crystal-clear audio for viewers and guests alike.

The modernisation effort was executed with precision by Channel 5’s technical team, including Luis Sosa and Korey Gooding, who created a unified audio network to share content seamlessly across various platforms.

Channel 5’s upgrades don’t just elevate Belizean media—they’re setting a benchmark for the entire Caribbean. Coordinated by César Reyna, AEQ’s manager for Mexico and Central America, the project marks AEQ’s expansion into the region, showcasing Belize as a leader in broadcast innovation.

For Belizeans, these upgrades mean a richer, more engaging viewing experience on Open Your Eyes. With its refreshed look and cutting-edge technology, the show is poised to continue delivering the news, entertainment, and interviews that have made it a household name—only now, it’s better than ever.

Whether you’re tuning in for the latest headlines, community updates, or vibrant discussions, Open Your Eyes is brighter, bolder, and ready to dazzle in 2024 and beyond.

Today, the popular morning talk show Open Your Eyes is celebrating an incredible 16 years of bringing education, entertainment, and inspiration to viewers across Belize since its first debut in 2008.

Channel 5 CEO Marleni Cuellar, who was the original host, recalled the vision behind the show: “In 2008, when the show was launched, I came on board full time at Channel 5 primarily as a host… It was a vision to create a morning show that allowed us to have deeper conversations and look at different aspects of culture and life in Belize,” Cuellar said.

After 14 years, Cuellar passed the hosting baton to news anchor Sabreena Daly. Daly, who joined just over a year ago, shared how the experience has transformed her. “It’s been such a learning curve… I get to have these extensive conversations that would normally be controlled by the news cycle,” she explained.

Currently, Open Your Eyes is hosted by Sabreena Daly, April Martinez, Paul Lopez, and Isani Cayetano, who continue the legacy of providing engaging, insightful content every weekday morning from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Behind the scenes, producer Viannie Reyes plays a crucial role in the show’s success, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. “It takes preparation, dedication, and commitment to make a production successful,” said Reyes.

This year, Open Your Eyes received a Special Mention at the Caribbean Broadcasting Awards, a recognition of its high standards and consistent quality. Cuellar attributed the show’s recognition to the show’s commitment to excellence: “We ensure that we get guests who are well versed… that our hosts are as prepared as they can be… and I think that’s a standard we’ve carried through all these years.”

As the show looks to the future, the current team promises even bigger and better content for its viewers.

Happy 16th anniversary, Open Your Eyes!
